Prostate

Multi-center Phase II clinical trials with dose escalation in advanced hormone-refractory prostate cancer. IN PROGRESS- University of Chicago, Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals of Case Western Reserve University, University of Pittsburgh .In this trial we plan to recruit 31 patients and use the following maximum dose regiment: 300 mg loading dose for 1 week following with 100 mg maintenance dose given for up to 6 months. Trial endpoints include: reduction in PSA levels, reduction in tumor size, and disease-free survival. The trial started in January 2007 and as of April 2007 we recruited 12 patients, successfully achieved initial safety requirements, and started efficacy arm of the study. First preliminary results of validation of human efficacy are expected at end of 2007 and full trial results will be published in 2008.
